Zixi announced that partner Korea Telecom (KT) Corporation streamed the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Live launch event from the UK using the Zixi Software-Defined Video Platform (SDVP) for worldwide content delivery. Working with Korean Telecom, the SDVP delivered ultra-low latency, error-free transport over IP networks, and 99.999% uptime – factors critical to service providers contributing and delivering the highest quality live video over unmanaged IP networks.
KT Corporation was able to leverage the ZEN Master control plane to help monitor and manage their streaming live, which is incredibly important for large-scale launch events such as this. KT Corporation chose Zixi because of its reputation for quality and proven delivery of live events. Zixi’s technology provides high visibility for backend technicians into any potential errors or complications should they arise, with the capability to respond to varying network conditions using dynamic Forward Error Correction techniques for error-free video transport over IP. In addition, Zixi provides best-in-class security with DTLS and AES encryption, allows for protected multicast transport, provides bandwidth efficiency and enables encoder backpressure.
The analytics generated by Zixi’s Intelligent Data Platform, a component of the SDVP, create a comprehensive picture of the event by pulling together billions of data points per day. This telemetry data is crucial to engineers and backend orchestrators alike who manage/coordinate these events so they can spot any errors and improve user experience not only during the event but for future events as well. The gargantuan amount of data aggregation and prescriptive monitoring the Zixi SDVP generates is useful for events (and customer bases) of all sizes.
