A GROWING TROPHY CABINET
In the Spring, Zixi accepted an Emmy Award for Pioneering Reliable Transmission Method for Live Contribution and Distribution TV Links. The Emmy was accepted by Zixi’s Chairman and CEO Gordon Brooks and Co-Founder and CTO Uri Avni ahead of the start of the NAB Show in Las Vegas.
At IBC, Zixi was awarded the IBC “Best of Show” award from TVB Europe in the Media & Entertainment category, recognized for excellence in developing innovative software that provides business and operational benefits, technical excellence, cost-effectiveness and game-changing ability to the industry. We also won the CSI Magazine Award for Best Network Delivery technology for the Zixi Platform.
In more recognition of our industry excellence, Zixi was named a winner of the Gold Award in the category of IP Broadcast Solutions – Distribution from Digital Media World, and a 2019 Product Innovation Award from TV Technology.
ENABLING INDUSTRY THOUGHT-LEADERSHIP & INTEROPERABILITY
At IBC, we gave some of our Partners a platform in the Connected Media pavilion to discuss the emerging trends in the Broadcast Industry, and how their companies are at the forefront of this IP revolution. This panel session, Complex Live Streaming At Scale, was educational and enlightening for all who attended, featuring influential decision makers from AWS, Bloomberg, Comcast Technology Services, Verizon Media and Warner Media.
CTO Uri Avni continued Zixi’s support of open standards by speaking on Reliable Internet Transport Stream Panels at both NAB and IBC. Zixi, continuing a long history of advocating for and adopting open standards such as MPEG-DASH, MMT, SMPTE 2022-2 and 2022-7 (RTP), have called on over twelve years of experience delivering Emmy-winning, mission-critical solutions to prominent media companies, OEMs, and service providers, to be major contributors to the RIST Specification. Zixi currently offers full support of the RIST Simple Profile and will support RIST Main Profile in 2020, along with 13 other industry protocols.
LAUNCH OF “ZEN MASTER CERTIFIED”
Because of its simplicity and ease of use, more and more customers are demanding that the Zixi platform-compatible equipment that they deploy also integrate with ZEN Master to provide a real-time view of the health of their entire system. In response to this demand, Zixi launched the ZEN Master Certified program, giving enhanced visibility to Partners who have integrated with ZEN Master. With Zixi’s ZEN Master control plane, content providers can manage, configure, and monitor large-scale deployments of the Zixi Enabled Network, Zixi platform devices and appliances. By creating an integrated solution with Zixi, Partners can help their customers deliver the best possible experience by adding ZEN Master capabilities to their offerings. To date over 50 technology vendors have received this designation.
ACCELERATED GLOBAL GROWTH WITH THE OPENING OF NEW OFFICES & NEW HIRES
In September, we announced the hiring in vital roles and the opening of offices in three strategic locations (New York, Los Angeles and London) to capitalize on the rapid growth of IP video solutions being seen across the globe.
In December, we further increased our global coverage with new hires based in the APAC region, in Singapore and Malaysia.
With a growing team across the globe, Zixi is truly able to offer 24/7 support to Customers for reliable, broadcast-quality content deployment.
A GROWING ZIXI ENABLED NETWORK TO BENEFIT CUSTOMERS & PARTNERS
Openness and interoperability are at the core of the Zixi Enabled Network ecosystem. In 2019 this network grew to over 150 OEM, technology partners and media service providers and 500-plus customers are transmitting live video between 80,000 endpoints in more than 100 countries.
AppearTV, ATEME, Blonder Tongue, Edgeware, Elecard, Kiloview, Kontron, RedBee Media, Sencore, Socionext, Telstra, Telestream, Video Flow, Videon Central, and Vimond, were among some of the notable companies that partnered with Zixi in 2019 to provide integrated video streaming offerings to the broadcaster community.
Zixi continues to invest in the ecosystem with dedicated resources to assist partners with development, testing, and proactive go-to-market activities to provide extensive visibility to prospective consumers.
2019 was a big year for Zixi, but we’re certainly not done accelerating in terms of innovation, development or growth. With plans to further innovate upon our Software-Defined Video Platform and prioritize our interoperability with any IP network, any protocol, any cloud provider and any edge device, we know 2020 will be our best year yet.
