ZIXI INTRODUCES AUTOMATED CONTENT QUALITY ANALYTICS TO ITS IP VIDEO DELIVERY PLATFORM

Posted September 12, 2018

ZEN Master with Content Quality Analytics allows professional broadcasters to control, orchestrate, and monitor streaming traffic across the media supply chain – from source to destination – over managed and unmanaged IP networks.

Zixi, the industry leader enabling highly reliable (99.9999%) and secure video delivery over unmanaged and managed IP networks, has introduced the media industry’s first broadcast stream management Control Plane within the Zixi Platform ZEN Master. This first-of-its-kind user interface in ZEN Master allows users to view, get alerts, and report on the segments of the supply media chain from source to destination.
The Zixi Platform provides the media industry’s leading large-scale IP video transport technology, with proven, unmatched performance and stability, whether on-premise or in the cloud. Now, Zixi has introduced new tools within the industry’s first broadcast stream management control plane in ZEN Master. For many years, the Zixi Platform has provided statistics with deep views into the network conditions, such as packet loss and jitter, that can impact video delivery. Now,

ZEN Master adds Content Quality Analytics (CQA) to the existing TR-101 analysis as a vital set of additional analytics that give Zixi Platform users an exclusive view to the quality of the video and audio essences that are critical to broadcasters and their viewers.
CQA allows ZEN Master users to determine, alert and confirm if and where video and audio quality has been degraded. In conjunction with the network statistics, CQA provides a holistic view to the health of video and audio from all sources, through the processing and delivery phases, to confirm that all payloads maintain the highest quality of experience and provide specific alerts if an issue arises.
“Industry workflows are becoming more complex. Being able to see content quality at its source and through a potential variety of processes, internal departments, and between business partners, is critical in meeting service level agreements. CQA allows for fast troubleshooting and maintaining operational efficiencies at scale. With the addition of CQA to the ZEN Master Control Plane, our customers now have a deep view to their content at the audio and video essence level, in addition to the existing network layer, allowing even more control over the Quality of Experience.” Eric Bolten, VP Business Development, Zixi
As the broadcast industry adopts the IP workflows required for digital OTT distribution, as well as the virtualization of traditional live linear and live event delivery at scale, having the ability to confirm video and audio quality across devices, environments, and partners, is key to ensuring all aspects of the streamed content are performing as desired.
To see a demonstration of CQA in person, schedule a meeting with the Zixi team at the 2018 IBC Show in Amsterdam September 13-18, Hall 14 Booth F11.
